Our Mentorship Exchange provides Empowered Girls with accessible role models to look to for support and guidance. Adult women and peer mentors are paired with each girl to ensure that she has someone in her life to listen to, accept, and admire her for who she is. EGA Mentors offer authentic guidance through encouragement, exploration, education, and by sharing their own experiences.
EGA Mentors have completed the EGA Mentor Training Intensive and participated in the Empowered Girl Training Weekend. They are committed to developing a supportive ongoing relationship with their Empowered Girl by maintaining contact via phone or email, regularly attending Empowered Girl Circles, and by arranging face-to-face time to explore, to create, or to simply have fun.
[Mentors] lay the foundation for a relationship that leads to other relationships, a relationship that teaches girls to open up not just to [the mentor] but to the world at large, and to make some sense of that world once [the mentor is] not around to coach them anymore.
